Chickasaw citizen Donna “Dancing Star” Courtney is a storyteller and award-winning fine artist. She is the granddaughter of Chickasaw original enrollee Willie Courtney.
Initially from the West Coast, Donna moved to Oklahoma in 2016 to establish a deeper connection with her tribe and culture.
Courtney enjoys incorporating Southeastern tribal designs into numerous art mediums such as: drawing, digital art, photography, textiles, metals, and her greatest passion, gourds.
In addition to being a featured artist on Chickasaw.TV, season 5, episode 8, her art has been exhibited in numerous states and competitions.
