Emerging Artist Award

Red Earth is proud to announce a call for Emerging Artist Award applications for the 2024 Red Earth Festival scheduled for March 22nd - 24th at the National Cowboy Museum and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City.
This annual award will grant funding to one (1) emerging Native American artist, allowing them to participate in Oklahoma City’s award-winning Red Earth Festival.
Emerging Artist Award provides booth space at the Festival Art Market, an opportunity to compete in the Red Earth Festival art competition and $100 for expenses. Deadline to apply for consideration is January 15, 2023.
ELIGIBILITY
The Artist Applicant:
• Must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
• Must provide proof of tribal affiliation in a federally or state-recognized tribal entity with one of the following: Tribal Membership card; or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB).
• Is not restricted by any level of education attained or school enrollment.
• Must be a first-time participant in a booth at the Red Earth Festival.
• Must have earned less than $5,000 in previous art sales prior to application.
• Must have exhibited in no more than five (5) non-academic galleries or exhibitions outside of tribally sponsored exhibits or events
CHECKLIST
Materials for Submission:
• Copy of Tribal Membership card OR Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)
• Completed and signed Emerging Artist Application Form
• 3 to 5 images of artwork for EACH CATEGORY you wish to enter
• One-page resume
• Artist background - separate page
