Handmade Eastern Red Cedar Flute by Cherokee Artist Darrell Bolin
Key of G Minor | Long Hair No. 40
This hand carved flute by Cherokee artist Darrell Bolin is crafted from Eastern Red Cedar, a wood valued for its warm color and clear melodic voice. The instrument is tuned to G minor at 440 Hz, giving it a deep and steady sound that works well for both beginners and experienced players.
The block is shaped in the form of an eagle, carved by Bolin from matching cedar. It is secured with a soft deerskin wrap that adds a traditional touch to the design. The dark rings near each end provide visual contrast and highlight the grain of the cedar.
Bolin’s signature and the Long Hair No. 40 marking identify this flute as one of his individually made pieces. The six-hole layout provides flexibility for expressive playing and accurate tuning.
