This stoneware totem was created by Choctaw artist Carolyn Bernard Young.
This flat stoneware "collage" as Young calls it, is her representation of a totem. This stunning totem stick with scratch work features an image of a turtle (often represented in Indigenous storytelling), a buffalo, a hummingbird, a dragonfly, and various geometric symbols and designs. Red, white, black, yellow, and turquoise.
