The Red Earth Festival Parade in downtown Oklahoma City is often referred to as America’s most unique parade. The event, which opens the annual Native American Cultural Festival on June 7, features hundreds of participants in authentic tribal regalia, drum groups, tribal princesses, floats, bands and other participants. The streets of Oklahoma’s Capitol City will be alive with Native American Spirit as the award-wining Red Earth Festival celebrates its 27th year.
The Festival parade starts at 10 am just south of the Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown Oklahoma City. Located immediately west of the Cox Convention Center, the parade will circle the 17-acre Myriad Gardens and is expected to last approximately one hour signaling the opening of the annual Red Earth Festival.
Last year the Red Earth Parade featured had more than 100 colorful entries while nearly 10,000 spectators lined the streets of downtown Oklahoma City to experience the one-of-a-kind event. The parade is free to the public and free for participants.
Participants may include but are not limited to Tribal organization, officials & princesses, color guards, dancers, music groups, school groups, drum groups and community organizations.
Tickets to attend the Red Earth Festival are $10 adults, and $7.50 seniors, youth, and Military Veterans with a valid ID. Children 5 & Under are free. Group rates are available. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or in person at the Cox Convention Center box Office.
