This clay ornament has been stamped with a diamond weave pattern rather than drawn on. After bisque firing, it goes into a wood fire to get the smoky colors.
The designs are inspired by the symbolism found on Cherokee and Southeast tribes' artifacts. It is believed they represent wind, water, clouds, smoke and fire. Lisa hand-digs her Oklahoma clay to make all of her pottery.
