Three Hands by Michael McAllister (Echota Cherokee) features a striking vertical arrangement of hand forms surrounded by bold geometric symbols. A warm palette of red, pink, and deep black is layered over the distinctive crackled texture of the original batik, creating a graphic composition with strong visual contrast.
The original artwork was created using the traditional batik process, a wax-resist technique in which areas of the surface are covered with wax before dyes are applied. The wax prevents dye from reaching selected areas, allowing the artist to build layers of color and design. Fine lines and crackled textures develop as dye works into small cracks in the wax, giving batik its distinctive appearance.
This reproduction is a high-quality giclée fine art print, produced from a high-resolution image of the original artwork using archival-quality, pigment-based inks. Giclée printing is valued in fine art reproduction for its ability to capture subtle color, texture, and detail with exceptional accuracy. The archival pigment inks are designed for long-term color stability and resistance to fading.
