Through Her Eyes: Opening Night Highlights

A powerful evening celebrating the voices of Indigenous women artists at the Red Earth Art Center.

What an incredible night! The Through Her Eyes opening reception on July 10, 2025, brought a packed crowd to the Red Earth Art Center. Guests gathered to celebrate the voices and vision of 30 Indigenous women artists, whose works span beadwork, sculpture, photography, digital media, and painting. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations and a strong sense of community.

As visitors explored the gallery, they experienced powerful stories of resilience, identity, and cultural strength reflected in each piece. The diversity of mediums and perspectives created a moving atmosphere where tradition and contemporary expression stood side by side.

While not all of the artists were able to attend in person, we are deeply grateful to those from outside Oklahoma who entrusted us with their work. Their contributions added tremendous depth to the exhibition, ensuring that Through Her Eyes truly reflects Indigenous women’s voices from across the country.

Throughout the exhibit, we’ll be hosting special programs and hands‑on classes, including workshops with featured artists, to give our community more opportunities to connect with the powerful stories behind the art.
