Sign Up to Decorate a Tree at Red Earth TreeFest 2025

TreeFest is more than holiday décor, it’s a celebration of Native culture, community, and storytelling.

Each year, Red Earth invites tribal nations, organizations, and community groups to share their traditions by decorating a tree at the Red Earth Gallery in the BancFirst Tower, downtown Oklahoma City.

Every tree tells a story, whether through handmade ornaments, cultural symbols, or art objects that reflect the identity of the people who create them.

From birch bark canoes on the Citizen Potawatomi tree to painted ponies honoring the Comanche as the “Lords of the Plains,” each design offers visitors a glimpse into Oklahoma’s rich tribal heritage.

Past TreeFests have also featured the Women’s Tree, celebrating the role of women in tribal cultures, and the Red Earth Docent Tree, covered in hundreds of handmade ornaments like beaded corn, dreamcatchers, and mini tipis.
