At this year’s Red Earth Festival, we were graced with the stunning performances of the Central Plains Dance Troupe. This unique troupe is a vibrant tapestry of numerous tribes from Oklahoma and surrounding areas. Including members from Kiowa, Cheyenne, Choctaw, Prairie Band Pottawatomie, Ponca, Otoe, Pawnee, Chickasaw, Comanche, Sac and Fox, and many other tribes. The Central Plains Dance Troupe captivates audiences of all ages with their exquisite displays of Native American dance and powwow music.
Their performances are more than mere entertainment; they are a vital educational tool, providing a rich insight into the beauty and intricacy of Native American culture. By keeping their culture alive and vibrant in the 21st century, they honor their ancestors and share the important storytelling elements and origins embedded in their dance styles. Their mission is to not only entertain audiences but to educate them about their culture, creating an enduring understanding and appreciation of their Indigenous heritage.

These two groups come together to bring the rich and unique Caddo tradition to life on the dance floor. Their performances are a testament to the strength and endurance of the Caddo culture, providing a captivating insight into their traditions and history.
