These unique cards are hand painted by artist Amber L. DuBoise-Shepherd (Navajo, Sac & Fox, and Prairie Band Potawatomi). A matching envelope is also included. The card is packaged in a clear, cellophane sleeve for protection.

Appliqué is used for clothing and dance regalia among Prairie and Great Lakes tribes, such as the Prairie Band Potawatomi. Today appliqué can be seen on dance regalia at tribal ceremonies and powwows, applied to both men's and women's clothing. The technique was used as a way to strengthen worn areas of items or to patch holes that had formed. Early appliqué was used to lengthen the life of clothing and moved into artful techniques that can be seen in blankets and quilts from numerous cultures from all over the world.

The card is one of a kind, an original, not a copy.
