Yonavea is a Caddo artist who creates unique bead work. Her work includes Native American cultural items such as moccasins, bandoleer bags and jewelry. She loves Caddo dances and attending powwows when not setting up for art markets.
Her bead work is made on a loom or hand stitched on buckskin using two needle applique stitch or half stitch. She signs and dates her work, so you know it is an original piece made by her. Yonavea creates her pieces focusing on traditional designs with contemporary colors.
She has won awards for her at juried art markets such as the Red Earth Festival, Artesian Arts Festival, Southeastern Art Show and Market, and the Cherokee Art Market.
