"Thunder" Print
"Thunder" Print
Artist Victoria McKinney, Echota Cherokee
"Thunder" represents a buffalo herd running across the prairie under a multi-colored sky.
Done by Acrylic Pouring, called Fluid Art or Liquid Art.
Even if it is not relatively new, it is experiencing a new resurgence. All of the above terms describe a method of abstract creation using pain, water and/or flow agents and usually some sort of additive to help create movements and "calls" of color on a surface. Additives can be many things such as glue, silicon, dish soap, olive oil, rubbing alcohol or starch, to name a few.
Different colors of paint are applied using various methods and the canvass of painting surface can be tilted to help the colors intertwine. The artist used acrylic paint thinned with water and Floetrol, a water cased conditioner used in paint sprayers to improve flow as well as preventing clogs and facilitating workability. Her crazy additive to aid movement was WD-40.
This print is matted and signed by the artist.
Measures 14" x 11" including mat.
