Kylee Robison is a member of the Long Haired Clan and is from the Painttown community on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, NC. She is both EBCI and Mvskoke. Kylee is a first generation weaver, learning how to pick out white oak and hunt materials to make homemade dyes at the age of 10 years old. She credits this sacred knowledge to her mentors Louise and Butch Goings, both renowned artists from the Qualla Boundary. Today Kylee’s focus is on gathering and weaving Oklahoma honeysuckle and round reed, dyed in the three traditional Cherokee colors; Bloodroot, Black Walnut, and Yellowroot.
